ARCTIC EXPLORER HARRY RADFORD RARE 1912 ESTATE ITEMS RARE Arctic Explorer Harry Radford was killed by the Arctic Eskimos June, 1912 while on an expedition. This is a one-time opportunity for those collectors of the following interests : Arctic Exploration, Royal Mounted Police, Northwest Territory History, Canadian History, Early 1900's Exploration, Eskimos, Smithsonian Institution. Harry Radford was a naturalist and arctic explorer in the early 1900's. On a mission to the arctic in 1912 he became frustrated with Eskimo guides, subsequently beat them, and irritated their primordial instincts. Because he pushed the Eskimo guides too far and was overall threatening, Harry Radford and his partner George Street were murdered by the Eskimos. It is a famous arctic exploration story. Radford also was a contributor to the NY State Game Commission and is featured in an article on Beavers in a NY State Game Commission Annual Reports book that we have for auction.
