Has professionally installed sound! (extra) In excellet almost new condition. Was never used but has a couple of small chips & crack in the paint on the yellow front step-up. Starting in April 1960, with the introduction of the 'test unit' #751-752, GE began the 'high horsepower' diesel locomotive tradition that still exists today. After polling results from testing on major USA railroads, GE modified its design the next year and built "demonstrator" #2501-2504 in the familiar 'low-nose' version. On run on the Pennsylvania RR's piggyback hotshot TT-2 from Pittsburgh, PA to Kearny, NJ, the trip was successful, and, within a few months, GE received orders from the Union Pacific RR and the rest is history. GE built 476 of these 2500 h.p. diesel locomotives for use by railroads in the USA and Mexico. NOTE - 5 FOOT MINIMUM DIAMETER CURVE TRACK REQUIRED and must be charged on a track with magnets for at least 24 hours before use. Please see my other auction for track that fits this engine! Comes from a non-smoking pet free home. Shipping to US only. Original box is included but is in poor condition - had to be taped back together; came unglued. But the form fitting styrofoam is perfect at the time of packing. PLEASE ask all questions prior to bidding. Item is As-Is and no returns accepted.
