This darling just-under-18-inch antique A 3 1/2 M 390 doll was made in Germany. Manufactured with a bisque socket head and a wood/composition body, she is in excellent condition without damage to her head. The line on her forehead, visible in my first photo, and the line at the top of her crown in the back; are simply stray hairs, not cracks. Hand-painted, her face reveals featd brows, long lashes and original, sleeping blue glass eyes. In addition to the painted lashes, she has also retained some of the original, applied upper lashes as well as all of the eyelid wax. Additionally, she has a pretty twice-shaded mouth, perfect top teeth and a deeply impressed chin dimple. Her body, well-strung and retaining the original finish, is exquisite. Save for a repaint to the right upper arm and paint loss to the same hand, it is without anything other than extremely light wear and soiling. Moreover, all of her realistically modeled digits have red-lined nailbeds and dimpled knuckles. She is costumed in a sunny-yellow dress that is worn over even nicer antique undergarments. The undergarments are comprised of a chemise, a half-slip and a pair of open pantaloons. All have matching lace trim and are in very good, clean condition. She also wears a synthetic blonde wig, beaded earrings and modern socks and shoes. Please see my numerous photos to follow, as well as my other auctions for more great vintage and antique dolls.
