Black Rotary Dial U.S. Army Telephone Manufactured for the United States Army schematic wiring diagram plate attached to underside This telephone must have come from Fort Benjamin Harrison on the east side of Indianapolis Indiana. The telephone is all metal and very heavy at nearly 6 pounds. It is embossed on the back of the base SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY TELEPHONE TP-6-A ORDER NO. 21585 PHILA.-49-7 CONN. TEL.&ELEC. DIVISION. The phone is a bit rough looking with missing paint, a split in the coiled cord wrap at the point of attachment to the handset, erosion of the finish on the screw-on ear piece. Sergeant used hair cream or was in the habit of banging the handset on his desk when annoyed with callers. Also on the hand set are some flecks of what might be white paint, and some smaller spots what might be red nail enamel. All of these flaws are surface conditions. The telephone stood the trials of time, tribulation and combat and is in good working condition. Great for that military base movie set or for your personal command center. Payment and Shipping Pleasepay with PayPal or by money order. The telephone weighs 5 pounds, 15ounces. The packed shipping weight is 8 pounds. Be assured that I never charge more than the actual cost of postage and that I do not charge a handling fee or for packing materials. I usually mail within 2 read more
