This auction is for a hard back cloth covered book" Army and Navy Gazette", with 18 color plates of various Army uniforms by R. Simkin. Printed in England by J.J. Keliher + Co, circa 1900. Color plates are on thick cards, colors are bright and clear. T are some minor marks and pickling to most plates (one or two have been drawn on, again in a minor way) . Cover spine very tatty, bit of cloth coming away at top of spine. Front and back cover also warn in places. Picture of inside back/ front patterned pages included. Measures just under "15 by 10.5" approx. These books are now becoming hard to find and many have been split for the prints. I have described this book as best I can. Very nice item for anyone interested in Militaria, information on the pages for Captains, foot troops, mounted solidiers uniforms and more. Some pictures include ( start Military types No 145 to162) South Australian regiments Canadian forces Tasmanian + Newzealand regiments Indian native army Hong- kong, Borneo, Malay, Mauritus and many more.
