ARMY DRESS BLUE UNIFORM-HIGHLY DECORATEDFirst off let me state that this uniform belonged to my Uncle, I did'nt buy itat a estate sale, or slap it togeather to make a profit. Every honor denoted on this jacket was earned by him at the peril of his own life. Jacket is the dark blue dress jacket (winter weight). All buttons are present. It is lined in dark blue satin and bears a label reading "hand tailored by CAREY baltimore. Sleeves have 2 gold stripes with a black ribbed material between the stripes. Shoulderboards have a gold thread border with a black background, gold oak leaves, with a thin red insert between background, and border. Blue Presidential Unit Citation with 2 oak leaves. (WWII) Combat Infantry Badge. South Korea Unit Citation. Red, white, and blue shield on lapel- DOD? Joint Chiefs? Don't remember which. Check out ribbon bar-I'm not an expert in this field, and don't remember what most of these mean. Do reconize the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf. One ribbon has 4 Stars, and an Arrow on it. Another ribbon has 3 Stars. DO KNOW that he was in almost every major engagement in the European Theater, and in Korea. He was also an "unofficial advisor" in Southeast Asia in the early 60's, and ended his career shining a seat with his arse (his words) in Washington, D.C. Oh yea, jacket is a 41 long. Pants are lighter dress blue with 1 & 1/2" wide gold strip, made by Battle Leader, are 100% wool, and are 34" x 33" I see no rips, tears, or stains on either jacket, or pants. Its' been hanging in my closet for the last 20 years-time to find it a new home. Check out my other auctions for some items that were collected by him over the years.
