The old US Army plastic "bullet shaped" canteen proved too noisy in the jungles of Vietnam. It could only be carried silently if carried either completely full or completely empty. A new collapsible 2 quart film bladder canteen was developed for the troops, which could be carried quietly in its specially designed nylon belt carry pouch at any fill level. This US Army USMC Vietnam 2 QT. Collapsible Canteen Cover is in excellent condition, with no rips, holes, or tears, and is "US" marked at front. It features a velcro closure front and a small pouch at the lower right to hold water purification tablets. It is complete with the original ALICE keepers at back, dated 1966, and is marked "COVER, CANTEEN, COLLAPSIBLE 2 QUART". A great relic of "Uncle Sam in Vietnam". Now celebrating over 10 years on eBay.
