Profusely illustrated, including numerous screen-printed illustrations and figures on transparent sheets, tipped-in plates and foldouts. Text in German and English. 226 tipped-in color plates, some folding, interleaved with numerous screen-printed clear acetate sheets (mostly photos of the artists), texts in German and English - the German text printed on thin styrofoam, the rest of the book printed, or with plates mounted, on brown paper stock. Clear embossed/molded plastic wrappers, held together with two bolts through a heavy clear perspex spine (the whole, designed by Wolf Vostell). 30 x 25cms, 6.5cms thick. Nearly 100 of the most prominent late 20th century contemporary and modern artists are represented in this definitive collection of the art of the 60's. This catalogue itself is a wonderful 1960's object - arguably an artists' book.
