Stunning ART DECO 6.95 Carat Amethyst PLATINUM Ring - HUGE PLATINUM RING Search Hello and welcome to my auctionThis is one of two rings that I am selling...because I no longer wear them and they don't fit me any more! Plus, I have bought more since and don't have enough fingers!This auction is for a stunning ART DECO ring. It is a platinum ring which is stamped PLAT on the inner band. The band is nice and thick but does get thinner towards the back. The ring is small...a size J but I dare say this could possibly be resized? The mount to the ring is so stunning......perfect and typical of the ART DECO era. The Amethyst is Rectangular cut and is bevelled around the edges. This is held in place by a platinum claw to each corner. The stone itself measures approx 14mm length by 9mm width by 8mm depth. The Carat weight I believe is 6.95.....a huge stone basically!!This ring is not for the shrinking violets out there that prefer dainty jewellery...this is a ring that commands attention and stands an impressive 7mm off your finger!Condition: Most importantly, the stone is badly surface scratched. There are also tiny nibbles around the edges. This is due to the age of the ring and the fact that it stands so high off your finger. The mount is nice, and I have been quoted �135 by my local jeweller to have another amethyst placed in the mount. read more
