The telephone being offered for auction has been painstakingly restored and made completely operational once again. If you purchase one of our telephones and are unhappy with it, return it to us within 30 days for a complete refund. at WE-CO, we have been collecting telephones for three decades and have between three hundred and five hundred vintage and antique phones on hand. We have only recently started selling some of our fine telephones to the public, on ebay and privately. For auction with a reserve price of $275.00, is this completely restored, working, collector's quality, 1930's model 202 oval base, desk telephone originally manufactured by WESTERN ELECTRIC . Our phone has been carefully restored, not over restored with an unrealistic extra glossy finish or toy like built in transistorized ringers that others selling telephones on ebay feature. The restoration project included refinishing with a high quality professional grade paint that closely duplicates the original finish in durability and luster, meticulous inspection and cleaning of all parts with repairs or replacement as needed, retaining as many original parts as practicable. This telephone features: a very nice "E" type handset with improved F1 transmitter for a clearer transmission, a vintage dial with a "wait for dial tone" number card and vintage number card holder, factory fresh brown cotton cambric covered mounting and handset cords, a very nice dial face plate with "Z" at the "0" or operators position, leather base covering and a separate WESTERN ELECTRIC style 684 subset. Telephone company technical experts have told us that the subset is necessary, it protects the "E" type receiver from pre-mature failure due to "raw current", increases telephone volume, improves sound quality and provides a bell or "ringer. (Our only modernization has been the addition of a modular mounting cord on our remanufactured subset, for easy do-it-yourself hook up).
