FANTASTIC ART DECO 1920'S HAND CIGARETTE CASE Oh me - oh my - these have a pedigree to rival even the best race horse. They are strongly featured in just about every collectible book. Its pictured in the BAKELITE STYLE BOOK, page 50 - edited by Tessa Clark and is what they have to say - "This highly sought after cigarette case, made of multicolored celluloid, features a grasping hand that acts as a clasp to keep the case from opening" 1920's. . . In addition almost a whole page is dedicated to them (page 119) in the SMOKERAMA, Classic Tobacco Accoutrements by Phil Collins as well as the Lilian Baker book Plastic Jewelry of the Twentieth Century. I love the "diamond" set in a gold bracelet against the cracked ice cuff and the turquoise striped bad along the edging. Note the way the hand points upwards and the fingers curl around the opener. The case measures 3 ½" wide x 3". The condition is good with no chips or cracks, t is just a little black tube covering the hinge missing at the back - does not affect the workings or integrity of the piece and is hardly noticeable. IF YOU COLLECT RARE ART DECO CIGARETTE CASES THESE ARE BECOMING VERY HARD TO FIND *** DON'T FORGET TO LOOK AT THE OTHER DECO ITEMS including 2 fabulous deco celluloid compacts - T IS SOME AMAZING STUFF I guarantee accurate descriptions, I pack carefully
