An Art Deco c.1933-1934 Crown Ducal (trademark of A. G. Richardson) vase designed by Charlotte Rhead and tube-lined decorated on a mottled ground in the BYZANTINE Pattern 2681, consisting of stylised flowers in various colours along with stylised leaves and all within a banded and hatched border. This is one of Charlotte Rhead's earliest and most popular designs for the factory, in production for a long period but this piece is from the first period c.1933-1934. The base has the Crown Ducal AGR9 (Period 1 backstamp) factory mark dating to c.1933-1934, the shape number 76, the pattern number 2681 and Charlotte Rhead's facsimile signature along with the tube-liners mark, for Dora Jones (TL-J).Please see the following for further detailed information:Collecting Rhead Pottery - Charlotte • Frederick • Frederick Hurten.
