THIS IS A FANTASTIC ART DECO DANCING FIGURINE BY ROYAL DEVON. THE CROWN DEVON STORY STARTED IN THE EARLY 1870'S WITH SIMON FIELDING BUT THE COMPANY WAS SAVED BY HIS SON ABRAHAM A FEW YEARS LATER. THE MARKS INCORPORATING CROWN DEVON WAS INTRODUCED AROUND 1910. THIS ART DECO FIGURINE WAS PROBABLY MODELLED BY KATHLENE PARSONS. THOSE THAT WERE IMPRESSED WITH THE FIELDINGS MARK AND THE DIAMOND REGISTRATION ARE VERY RARE. THIS FIGURINE IS A WONDERFUL CANCER HOLDING HER PINK AND GREEN SKIRT IN HER HANDS. SHE BENDS BACKWARDS WITH ONE LEG UPLIFTED BEHIND HER. SHE IS 8 1/2" TAL L AND 6 1/2" WIDE TO THE TIP OF HER OUTSTRETCHED SKIRT. SHE IS 5" IN DEPTH TO THE TIP OF HER TOE. ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FIGURINE IS "A CROWN CROWN ... ...DEVON FIELDING'S MADE IN ENGLAND". THE NUMBER 651 IS IMPRESSED ON THE BOTTOM ALSO. Check out my other items !
