Art Deco Era Bakelite orCelluloid Carved Beads Necklace For Restringing Condition ~ The necklace has broken, although both pieces of the closure are still present on the one end. After counting the beads, it appears that 2 of the smallest ones are missing from one end, so when re-stringing one of the small ones from the other end would have to be switched over. Size ~ Would make a 16 1/4 - 161/2” necklace. Of the carved beads, the largest round bead is 15mm, the next smaller size is 12mm, and the long beads are 1”. I believe these are Bakelite, but am not positive. I did not test as I did not want to rub off any of the red coloring and did not know how to test without rubbing. I find first class shipping to be very reliable however it does not track or insure packages. Most of the items will be things I have collected over the years and items from my mother’s and grandparents’ estates. I am not an expert so I do not clean any jewelry or metals of any kind other than wiping with a dry cloth. I try to describe everything accurately and point out any flaws I see. I am rating items as follows. Excellent – minimal wear or use with no obvious damages – If I have to use a loop to see a flaw, I may still rate it as excellent. Very Good – minimal wear, scratches, flaws ( as described) that can be seen with the naked eye but are not obvious. Good – major scratches or damage ( as described ) but can still be worn or used and does not detract from the desirability of the piece. Fair – Several major scratches or damages ( as described ) but item can still be worn or used. Poor – Damage is obvious and item needs repair to be worn or used.
