for your consideration is a very rare and heavy set of FIREPLACE bookends made by GRAHAM BRONZES. They are from the 1930's and made of SOLID BRONZE. Authenticity is unquestionable as both are inscribed 'Graham Bronze' on the back. This is a highly unusual and rare set featuring moveable solid bronze andirons. On the mantle is a clock flanked by candelabras. They are attached by old rounded single slotted screws. The hearth is incised to indicate old stone. Nothing is left to the imagination. These are incredibly elaborate and striking for a set of bookends. The photos will demonstrate the extraordinary detailing of this set. Graham Bronzes was established in 1861 and were in business until the 1950's. They were known to have standards of excellence that were unsurpassed in the industry. This set is a shining example of their craftsmanship. Each bookend stands 5 1/2" tall (to top of clock) 4" tall (mantle top), 5 1/2" wide, 2 3/4" deep and weighs 2 lbs. 5 oz. The removable andirons are 1 1/2" tall, 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" long. The condition of these bookends is excellent both structurally and cosmetically. All parts are t and in good condition. All four andirons stand up straight and level. The finish is excellent. The clock and candelabras are intact with the old screws and stand straight.
