1930s-40s ART DECO FRAME HANDMADE FROM PIANO/ACCORDION KEYS in VERY GOOD CONDITION This beautiful Art Deco style one-of-a-kind frame was handmade in the 1930s-40s by a gentleman who worked at the Wurlitzer Co. in Rockford, IL, which manufactured pianos and accordions. This man's daughter, who we met at a sale, said her father brought home scraps from piano and accordion keys and used them to make this wonderful frame. Please scroll down for more information and photos! The frame is done in two pearlized colors: ivory and dark gray and is trimmed in shimmery green metallic. The piece is very nicely crafted with great attention to detail and excellent design. The frame is in very good condition. In fact, we were able to find only one 1/4" crack on the top of the base. (The crack wouldn't photograph or we'd have a photo to show you! Sorry!) Other places that appear to be cracks upon closer inspection are simply w different pieces of material were cut and fitted together. T is some discoloration that may come off with a proper cleaning. The piece of glass that was cut for this frame will be included in your purchase. The entire frame measures approximately: 2-1/4" depth (at base) x 11-3/4" width (at widest point--base) x 11" height (incl. base). The frame can accomodate a 6-3/4" x 8-3/4" photo. Matting can be used to accomodate a standard sized photo.This one-of-a-kind piece is an excellent picture frame or would also make a wonderful mirror.
