is a rare art deco fur clip/brooch from the 1920s-1930s. Made of 14K yellow gold with an intricate sunburst design. Center of clip has 16 bright white dimaonds totaling 1/2 CT. G color; VS 1 clarity. Look closely at the photos to see the diamonds set low in the center between the major sunrays. Really fine work.
It has a 1 3/4" diameter, slightly larger than a half dollar. Weighs 21 grams.
The fur clip has all its tension and points are still sharp. Unusual are the safeties (like on a pin back) which are located at the fur clip points. These keep the clip down and in place. One safety is working; the other is missing its lever, but still works at keeping the clip down.
The workmanship is marvelous; the wear nearly non-existent. Great, lovely piece from a bygone era.
