Telefonbau und Normalzeit Model 48 The “Modern telephone” as this was called, was designed by Siemens and Halske in 1936 as a response to a request for a standard telephone for the state post office, the Reichpost. The type 48, introduced in 1948 was an improved circuitry version of this telephone. It has been called the volkwagen beetle of telephones. This example is in excellent condition and converted to work on BT or Virgin lines. It has the quirky “ This model also has the more desirable ball mouthpiece. If you want something a bit different, a conversation piece, then this is for you.
