This exquisite Art Deco Wien Austria Goldscheider figurine was done by the famous Hungarian sculpture artist Claire (Klara) Herczeg (1906-1997), and has been in the current owner's possession for almost 30 years. Claire Weiss (Klara Herczeg) also worked for Rosenthal and Hutschenreuther. Measures 12.5" tall. Signed on the bottom of the floor length skirt with "C. Herczeg" and stamped on the bottom with part of her name (because there is a rectangle cut out-seems original when made), "ire Hercxeg". Ther is also markings of , "Goldscheider" "Wien" "Austria" and some incised numbers are showing "81_" below that "10" and below that "7". Only part of the incised numbers are showing because of the rectangle cut-out. There also looks to be an incised script "L" and a black mark "s" over "c". And ther are more incised letters/numberson the upper edge above the "Goldscheider", "X" and I think, " II" and then a "B" or "D". Trying to be a descriptive as posible, but they are hard to read. The long fluid skirt is grey and the upper top and skirt has a black base with GOLD (that may be real 22kt or 24kt gold that is painted on) and red swirls along with oval designs-please see photos. It screams ART DECO-a lady poser-a femme fatale. This figurine is in FINE to EXCELLENT condition as a vintage item. I have examined it over and over-and there are only a couple, of the most minute flea bites along the skirt-so tiny I had to double check with a 8x loupe and tried to photgraph, but I could not capture them. One of the flea bites is dark-so has to be felt. This has been carefully stored in a non-smoking environment for almost 30 years. No cleaning has been done. Shipping will have to be calculated AFTER the sale- the estimate is given for 2 day air shipp ing. Will be individually calculated through ebay. Insurance and signature confirmation will be included with shipping. There will be an extra handling charge for UPS professional packing for international shipping-approx. $50.
