This sculpture was purchased at an auction in Germany about 2 years ago with intention of restoration, but I was not able to find a business in my area that can assist. The auction house attributed the work to the Art Deco period and reference was made to the Wiener Werkstatte but no artist was attributed. T is an engraved signature on the base which looks like "Huy" and t is writing in pencil but the wording is very faint. Could be a first Initial and Last Name. Based on the theme, its origin might be from Hawaii . The intricate flower applications remind of works from Julene Melcher. I am sure collectors will know and any information on the design is very welcome. This is a large figurine and measurements are 13" (33 cm) height, 10" (25 cm) length and 5.5" (14 cm) width across shoulders. The main form is in excellent condition, without any signs of damage or wear but the delicate flower applications have several tips broken off in the head dress as well as the bracelets. I was planning of having them glazed rather than rebuild as they blend well into the flower wreath structure. Pictures are attached for reference.
