A great Art Deco combination of glass and white metal making a really interesting inkstand from around 1925 -1930. Oval bevelled glass base - running your hand round the edge it seems to be hand cut Two white metal pen rests and inkwell screwed to the base - the screws beneath have feet on them - an elegant solution White metal inkwell with sprung sliding lid and Bakelite insert - I have seen these inkwells as separate items marked EPNS - this has no mark. SIZE - Oval base 7" x 4.5"; inkwell 1.75" height x 1.75" diameter CONDITION REPORT - two absolutely minute nibbles to the glass edge; oxidisation spots coming through the inkwell casing; no dents or structural damage HAVE NOTHING IN YOUR HOUSES THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW TO BE USEFUL OR BELIEVE TO BE BEAUTIFUL.
