This is a superb example of a very scarce cocktail shaker. This was referred to as the "Shake-A-Leg" cocktail shaker, and was made by West Virginia Specialty Glass Company, and the plated metal parts were made by Derby Shelton Silver Company of Shelton, Conn. The patent number is 2091604 (1937) that is inside the lid is just for the venting tube. This style of "Shake-A-Leg" shaker was sold at the 1939 New York World's Fair also. I have seen many examples of the ruby red and frosted versions made by this company over the years, but never a clear etched one. I found none in all my Internet searching either. This one is in superb condition with no chips, cracks or breaks in the glass. The eitching does not show well in the photos, but it is deep and precisely cut. The plating on the fully removable metal parts is superb, and there are no dings in heel, bands, or top. The shoe has an operational buckle, and could be removed, but I did not want to mess with it. This shaker is 15-1/2" tall, and came out of an Estate in Western Montana, where it has obviously been very well cared for. Please email with any questions. This shaker will be double boxed when shipped. If you would like it insured, let me know before payment is made. Thanks for looking, and ............
