These impresssive Art Deco Bookends are rare and I've never seen them in Solid Bronze before. Although made in the Art Deco period, they are more Art Nouveau in their spectacular design. They are in great condition with no chips, cracks, or dents. They have a Rich patinated Bronze finish. Their commanding size is 5-1/4" Tall with a 7-1/4" wide by 3" deep base. They are very heavy, weighing 5 lbs each. The felts were loose, so I took the opportunity to check their quality construction. You can see that all the parts are Solid Bronze, which are then assembled with machine screws. I assembled them carefully and reattached the Original felts, which are in great condition. They are listed in Kuritzky** as Circa 1925, made by Judd. The ones noted in Kuritzky** were made of gray metal on an iron base. They were rated as a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the rarist, with a value of $225. These are Solid Bronze*, so I feel they must be even rarer and more valuable. They are clearly stamped "9831", which is consistent with Judd's marking system. I guarantee the age & authenticity of them. Please feel free to ask any questions, I try to promptly answer all.
