Antique Art Deco 1.23 Carat Diamond Engagement Ring
Platinum Up for auction, an Art Deco era platinum diamond engagement ring, circa 1920-1930. This ring is set with a solitaire diamond in an Art Deco filigree setting. The diamond weighs approximately 1.23 carats. Color looks to be F-H, clarity SI or better. Of important note, the diamond has a fair amount of damage and will require a re-cut to achieve its full potential in beauty and value. The girdle has several chips and two pavilion facets on opposite sides of the diamond are badly chipped. The integrity of the diamond appears fine. The shoulders of the ring feature four small (approximately 2.5 mm each) triangular sapphires, dark in color and showing some damage to the faceted surfaces with the aid of a loupe. This ring is handsome and fairly presentable in its current state though any jewelry connoisseur will identify that the center diamond is flawed with the naked eye. This is an antique piece and not a modern reproduction. Size is approximately 6.25 All gem weights are approximate based upon dimensional weight unless otherwise specified. As with most antique items, there may exist signs of wear consistent with age and use. Any significant condition problems will be specified in the description. All images are of the actual items offered for auction. Paypal will be accepted only from buyers with a confirmed address; shipment will be to the confirmed address and fully insured via US Priority or Registered Mail.
