Gorgeous Art Deco sterling silver Elgin American cigarette case with gold accented engraved floral bow on the front, plain satin finished back. Measures 3-7/8" x 3" and has a wonderful asymmetrical shape with one rounded corner. Very sleek and feminine, yet has a nice sturdy weight of 120 grams. Will hold cigarettes vertically or horizontally. Beautiful butler swirled finish inside. Crossbar arm is marked "Elgin American Made in U.S.A. Sterling". Would also make a great case for business cards! In excellent extremely well babied condition, looks as if it was seldom used, if ever. Circa 1950. $8.95 US ship/insure.
About The Maker: Elgin- American Manufacturing Company- Elgin, IL. Began business in 1887. Registered with U.S. Trade Mark Patent office in 1915 for the manufacture of silver products. The last record of production found was in 1952, in observance of their 65th anniversary.
