Wonderful extra thick and heavy sterling silver Art Deco cigarette case, in outstanding condition. Engraved with leaf work cartouches on each corner. Big case measures 4" x 3" and holds cigarettes either vertically or horizontally. Also makes a terrific case for carrying business cards. Weighs an extra heavy 146 grams! Marked inside "Elgin American Made In U.S.A. Sterling". Wonderful swirled butler finish on the inside. In fantastic condition, extremely well babied, probably put away and seldom used. Circa 1940. $8.95 US ship/insure.
About The Maker: Elgin- American Manufacturing Company- Elgin, IL. Began business in 1887. Registered with U.S. Trade Mark Patent office in 1915 for the manufacture of silver products. The last record of production found was in 1952, in observance of their 65th anniversary.
