This wall light came out of an old opera house turned Movie Theater I managed for many years. In 1914 it first opened as the Holland Opera House, and was owned by two brothers Joe and Jon Holland. In 1927 it was transformed into a movie house, and remained one until this past summer when the theater was bought out and demolished for a new multi use facility. I believe it was installed during the 1920's, or possibly in 1914 when it first opened as the Holland Opera House. This light was in the auditorium, w t were 3 others. T were two of these wall lights on each side of the auditorium. They worked up until the day I removed them from the theater. T are 6 sockets for bulbs on each fixture, three 100 Watt bulbs were used for the "house" lights before and after the show, and three 15 Watt bulbs during the show so that people could see their way out if they had to use the rest rooms or get concessions (which was always our hope when we saw people get up during the show)! , you are bidding on only one (1) wall light. This is a great Art Deco piece that is ready to be put to use again! It measures 3ft from the top decorative glass ball to the bottom decorative piece, 6.5 inches side to side and 4.5 inches from w it would rest on the wall to w the frosted glass cover protrudes outward. Weighs 12 lbs, but after being packaged properly would probably weigh about 16-18 lbs. I would prefer to ship the glass cover separately to prevent any damage, but will be the buyer's decision. It looks to be chrome platted? It is in fine shape considering its age. It does have some blue, red and black paint spots on the middle section of the fixture and on both sides; however the frosted glass covers many of the scratches and paint spots. The frosted glass cover has a very cool design in it, almost like arrows. It is about a .25 to .5 inch thick, hopefully the pictures show the detail I'm trying to portray. This fixture has a glass ball on the top, and one of the other lights with the same glass ball has a "made in Czech o Slovakia " sticker on it. T are also some scratches and places w the chrome? has pitted. I have made no attempt to clean this at all and it is being sold as found. The glass cover helps to cover up many of the scratches and some rust spots. It is being sold with the wires still attached and the bulbs still in place. The bulbs can be removed very easily; these were changed by myself easily when ever they burned out. T is some rust in bottom of the fixture which is not visible when on a wall. Other areas that have rust are the back of the fixture which also wouldn't be visible when on a wall and on the sides w it would be visible. I am willing to store this for up to 6 months once payment is received. NO RESERVE! Be sure to check my other auctions because I have 3 more from the same theater and will combine shipping! Thank you and good luck!
