This item is a beautiful bakelite/catalin fruit knife set with stand. The stainless steel and bakelite knifes have gorgeous two-tone handles that are butterscotch and black. The stand is made of clear lucite which is held together with thick brass-colored wires. Given the materials and the art deco style of this item, it was likely manufactured in the 1930's or 1940's. I believe this set originates from Germany. The knife set is in excellent + condition with all pieces and no chips, cracks, or repairs and little wear. The knifes are 6.25 inches long (with a 3.33 inch blade). When placed in the stand, the set is approximately 6.5 inches high and 5.25 inches wide. A wonderful find for a collector of bakelite or art deco kitchenware.
