AMPHORA PORTRAIT VASE TURN TEPLITZ ART NOUVEAU ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED c 1900 GORGEOUS ANTIQUE A gorgeous Amphora portrait vase created at the peak of the art nouveau era, in Turn Teplitz, around 1900. Stands approximately 6" high and 4 1/4" wide. Marked with the red stamp Turn Teplitz Bohemia RStK Made in Austria. Marked with embossed number 665 and a faint Amphora in an oval. Naturalistic design with a young maiden portrait from profile and trees with foleage all around the vase. Colors are mostly matt greens, gilts and ivory. The hair is adorned with shiny enamel flowers in pinks, blues and greens, bordered with raised guilt. As photos show, colors vary with lighting. The vase is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, nicks, hairlines, crazing or repairs/restorations. The only observations, t is wear to the guilt at the top rim, and t appear to be few pen marks toward bottom of vase, absolutely not distracting from the beauty of the piece. Similar vases can be found in Richard Scott's book Ceramics From the House of Amphora 1890 - 1915 pg 85, 86. This is a highly collectable and desirable piece, would make a fantastic addition to any antique porcelain, art nouveau, Amphora collection and be a fabulous decorative piece .
