is a gorgeous Art Nouveau vase marked "AMPHORA AUSTRIA" along with an impressed crown mark and the numbers "3634" and "58". It stands 14.5 inches tall and is organically shaped with four sinewy strap handles, grape leaves, flowers and berries fully modeled and applied to the surface. The decoration is unbelievable! This vase came out of a local home so it is still dusty and dirty on the surface. The vase appears to be in wonderful condition, with only some nicks to some of the red berries at front on their extreme edges, and light chips to one grape leaf at the top of the vase near the yellow berries. T is also another light chip to a small grape leaf lower down on body near yellow berries at right; the damage is minimal in each case and does not detract from the whole. Most of the other leaves, flower petals and berries look to be unharmed. The body of the vase has a deep blue iridescent glaze with crazing throughout. No chips or cracks to body. I have no reserve on this so please bid away and enjoy! |
