Regal and elegant, the sculptured black glass pendant of the early 1900's composes all of the trait elements of the era. The single piece of handblown, marquise-chiseled and diamond polished old Bohemian glass supported by bridged bars at back, is enhanced with intricate square shaped beads ... each finely fused upon the bridges and shaped into a scalloped frame, seemingly floating in an air-like dimension at center's edges. Pendant measures 2 1/2" in length, is 1 1/8" across and 1/8" in depth . All framework is of a brass and silver base and extends to the bail, hallmarked and laced with the old triangular loop...all of which were black enameled. The 20" fine linked chain is the original; is a silver with a black enameled overlay and unique barrel clasp. Unique to this particular pendant is the mat finish of the main center and the inset square ones within the scalloped edges . A multi-faceted gem is linked to bottom center point and is of the same dimensions and cut as the lower inset side gems. Earrings of this set were made in the same area of northern Bohemia (now Czech Republic and formerly Czechoslovakia) and are of the same unique black glass composition.
