Art Nouveau Hand-Painted Vase With Butterfly and Flowers This is a beautiful two-handled stoneware vase from France that was made during the early 1900s. It is not signed but has been attributed to one of the Massier brothers, Montigny and Felix Optat Milet, who was with the French manufacturer Sevres during that time period. The vase, which is painted with enamels, is decorated with a large butterfly and branches with pink and white flower blossoms. The mottled aubergine background is painted in an impressionist style, contrasting masterfully with the bold butterfly and flowering branches in the foreground. The vase measures 9 inches tall and 15 inches around. It is in excellent condition, with its only issues being two very small chips along the rim and some rubbing due to wear on the bottom. T is no loss of paint and the colors are still extremely vivid and brilliant.
