Jane Eyre By Charlotte Bronte Published by The Gresham Publishing Company (a subsidiary of Blackie & Son) . Not dated but published around 1900. 393 pages. 14cm x 20cm Illustrated in black and white by John H Bacon Binding design by Talwin Morris Introduction by William Keith Leask A very Art Nouveau styled binding by Talwin Morris. with copious use of peacock feathers.Boards are a little worn and this book is not without faults. Boards are worn along spine edges and on corners. Spine ends are worn with small fray splits on either side at each end. Board design is bright despite the rubbing marks. Gilt title on front board is rubbed on one letter but is otherwise bright. Spine design is bright and titles are legible and bright. Neatly written name and date(1898) on front endpaper. Front hinge is cracked and title page is almost detached and please see image. Front board feels a little slack but is still securely attached. Rear hinge has cracked but board is securely attached. Binding feels a little slack particularly in the middle of the book. Foxing mainly at beginning and end of book.
