An Art Nouveau Jugendstil hammered copperdovetail jointed Arts & crafts Secessionist vase in extra large size, 15” tall; 8” across handles. All over lightly hammered copper body surmounted with heavy cast brass highly stylized bird figures and applied brass top rim. Brass handles firmly attached to body with three brass machine screws per handle. Body of vase raised from single sheet of copper joined with broad dovetail jointed seam along the entire vertical height. Separate copper piece soldered on to body to form bottom. Bulbous base decorated with Nouveau stylized flowers and vines. The bottom appears to have original lacquer finish; the remainder of the piece has some traces of lacquer. WMF quality but the only mark found is an hand inscribed “28” on base. Overall fine condition as shown in the photos with several very tiny shallow dents the largest shown in photo with pencil; the others about half the size of an eraser on a typical wood pencil.
