For about the past 15 years my Family and I have purchased Vintage and Antique Lighting from an Antique and Vintage Lighting store in Olde City Philadelphia called "THE CLASSIC LIGHTING EMPORIUM". (It is like eating peanuts for us-we just could not stop ourselves!!! LOL!!)This lamp was purchased for my Father because he was a Pharmacist and this "Urn Style" reminded me of Grecian containers used for pharmaceuticals. He loved it and used it for his desk. As much as I would love to keep it, I am now downsizing and it must be passed on to someone else who will cherish it and love it forward. My Parents, who lived through that period, LOVED the decor. It was used in a pet-free, smoke-free home for 5 years and then stored away when my Dad passed away. It is very difficult to take your eyes from this exquisite piece of art (it is just SO elegant!!!). Every place you look, you see such intricate detail; and the green color is so soothing when you turn the light on. The shade is in very good condition with NO cracks or chips; but it does have a few light scratches on the top that you can see in a certain light. The base is made of Brass and white metal. T is a small dent that was t when it was bought. I also stressed to my Father that this lamp had 3-leaf clovers all over and that it was a "lucky" lamp!!! LOL!!!It was bought for $1,200.0 0. My grandmother always said, "Green goes with everything-look at the color of leaves and stems that every color of flower goes with!!" LOL!! (I think she was right-aren't grandmoms always right???!!!) The Lamp is about 19 inches tall and the shade measures about 12 inches in diameter. I loved that it had the two light sockets with individual push switches so that you could light one or two of the bulbs (it was so old-fashioned). T is also a push down switch on the base. I will include two new bulbs like the ones my Father used. The 11 FOOT CORD looks original and has a two-prong plug. The cord is also SO old fashioned with a braided-look, silky fabric wrapping in gold color!!! The lamp weighs about 8 pounds before packaging. I NEVER do more to an antique or vintage item than clean it with mild soap and water. T are shades of patina on the brass that has NEVER been polished. My Father preferred to keep the toll of the years on it. He was always a natural, "green" type of person even before it was popular. The body of the lamp is a brass color and the base has a raspberry tinge to the color. I consider the person winning this lamp very lucky to own this unique and possibly rare lamp.
