This is an absolutely beautiful tray or plate, made in Limoges, France, and bearing the Blakeman & Henderson hallmark that dates to the early 1900's. A similar plate is referenced in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Third Edition. This plate is in very good condition with no damage and little if any wear. It measures 10" across without the handles and stands about 1 1/2" from the tabletop. Please take a minute to look at the gorgeous shape of the china as well as the lavish gold around the rim and handles. The Art Nouveau style decor with shell shaped light green medallions connected by a fancy gold enamelled chain is intricate and quite stunning. T is an embossed gold medallion in the center, too ~ This work of art from days gone by is grand on display and it is a wonderful collectible.
