Up for auction is simply the best and finest 4 piece artist signed early Pickard Limoges Art Nouveau Chocolate set. This set came from an estate in Sarasota, Florida and because it has remained in the same family since the 1940âe(tm)s it has stayed in absolute mint condition. This chocolate set still has itâe(tm)s original and rarely seen 111⁄4âe wide tray. The chocolate pot stands 8 1⁄4âe tall by 7 1⁄4âe wide from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle. The creamer measures 3 1⁄2âe tall and the covered sugar measures 3 1⁄2âe by 5 5/8âe wide from handle to handle. As you can see from the photos the style incorporates a strong Art Nouveau design and my research indicates that the actual name of this pattern is âeoeTulip Conventionalâe. T is an artist signature on every piece, including the tray, of which I have also included a photo. The name is Rudolph Tomascheko who is an artist who worked for Pickard china from 1903 to 1910. I believe this particular set was most likely decorated by him around 1905. This impressive Pickard China Chocolate Set is in absolute mint condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, hidden repairs, or wear to the gold or floral decoration, guaranteed! Iâe(tm)ve also included a picture of the signature on the bottom of the tray which reads J.V. Limoges France and is also marked Handpainted read more
