Antique Standish Solid Pewter For Your Antiaue Pewter Collection Details Description: A beautiful antique Art Nouveau pewter bowl both having a round flat base rising up in shaped sides. The sides look like a paper cup where you can find a muffin, in a beautiful Art Nouveau design. The bowl has a plain base while the sides and top give a nice ruffled look that is very unusual. The piece is marked on the bottom of the base. They are marked Standish Solid Pewter known to be made by the Benedict Manufacturing Co. of East Syracuse New York, which went out of business in 1953. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.Date: Uncertain but most likely 1920s -1930s. Origin: East Syracuse, NY USA Size: The bowl measures 4" in diameter at the base and is 2 1/8" high. The piece weighs almost 6 ounces. Maker: Benedict Manufacturing Co. Marks: Stamped on the bottom "STANDISH SOLID PEWTER" having a line below it with what looks like a candlestick holder on the end and the number 790 below it all. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice antique having an unusual shape. Condition: Both piece is in good condition with no breaks, or repairs. It has one small and shallow ding to the bottom. In addition, the piece has a few stains on the inside and outside. . The piece also has scratches throughout. We believe that the piece would clean nicely with some elbow grease. However, we will leave that to the discretion of the next owner.
