Art in the Service of Ideology, Hashomer Hatzair Political Posters 1937 – 1967 is an out of print book that was published by Yad Yaari (Hashomer Hatzair Institute of Research and Documentation) and The Ben-Gurion Research Center in 1999. The book presents a retrospective reflection of a highly significant era in the history of the world in general and of the Jewish people in particular, as mirrored in political posters made by local artists of the leftist camp during the years 1937-1967. The book is full of B&W and color posters that were published back in those years designed by : Avraham (Tushek) Amarant, Dan (Wahrhaft) Amitai, Hilik Arad, Yitzhak Ben-Menachem, Naftali Bezem, Shmuel Katz, Franz Kraus, Shlomo Lavie, Avraham Omri, Aryeh Rotman, Ruth Schloss, Yohanan Simon, Yosef Walter and Shraga Weill. The book, that was edit by Shlomo Shealtiel and contains articles by: Rachel Aharoni, Yuval Danieli, Batia Donner, Prof. Zeev Levy, Gideon Ofrat and Eli Tzur. The book has 185 pages and was designed by David Tartakover and Osnat Herzberg . The book is written both Hebrew and English. Condition: Very good condition. Dust Jacket.
