Up for auction is something that I picked up at an estate sale, not being an expert on these things I can only venture an educated guess. It appears to be a painting? done by Catherine Klein, the famous artist, known for her florals, and mostly known for her postcards, one being Raphael Tuck & Sons. This piece measures 13" long and 6 & 5/16" tall. It is done on a cardboard that has a texture, and the floral is shiny, again, I am not an expert but, and I don't know anything about printing, but it is not a print, just the floral is shiny. It is signed in gold C. Klein. At the bottom is printed in a goldish tan, Series 607, IV No. 25. Chinese Sunflowers. Designed at the Studios in England. Raphael Tuck & Sons, London, Paris, New York, Publishers to her majesty the Queen, and in the right corner is stated in very fine print, looking through a magnifying glass, it appears to read something about printed by or at, I am not sure. I have several of these that I purchased, I will be listing them in the near future, on the back of one of them is: A. A. A. & Co. 1173 - 4, give this no. for duplicates, and then t is some writing under that that is blurred, and then the words: me. Several of them have numbers on them in pencil like: 1188.5 me, G3/ 4508, #53, 700. This is in good condition, although is does have some age discoloration and soiling, especially around the edges, one of the corners is creased 3 times, and two of the sunflowers have some whitish spots in and around the center, like the paint has flaked off. SORRY IF I LED ANYONE TO THINK THAT THIS WAS A POSTCARD, IT IS NOT, WHAT I MEANT TO SAY IS THAT I THOUGHT MAYBE PERHAPS IT WAS DONE AS AN ORIGINAL TO USE FOR POSTCARDS, T IS NOT THE WORD POSTCARD ANY W ON IT, AND THE BACKS FOR THE MOST PART ARE PLAIN, UNLESS STATED THAT T ARE LETTERS OR NUMBERS PRINTED ON BACK IN PENCIL.
