ARTHUR RACKHAM [1912] EDITION PETER PAN IN KENSINGTON GARDENS. J M BARRIE Description ARTHUR RACKHAM, J M BARRIE. THE LARGEST AND BEST EDITION OF PETER PAN IN KENSINGTON GARDENS From The Little White Bird London: Hodder and Stoughton, circa 1912. 50 wonderful mounted colour plates, complete with captioned tissue guards. This circa 1912 edition is considered the best edition. This copy is a variant, it has dark green mounts and end-papers, which I have never seen before and is not recorded in Riall, or latimore & Haskell. Original green/ gilt decorated cloth. All fifty mounted colour plates and captioned tissue guards are present, as called for, all the plates are in very nice condition, a couple tissue guards creased. This is the large format, 11" x 9" 1912 Arthur Rackham edition and is considered the finest edition with the fifty stunning mounted colour plates bound throughout the text, a new frontispiece, and with the beautiful additional black and white illustrations that were not present in the 1906 edition. The covers and spine are rubbed/bumped/chipped/faded/creased. Inside hinges are still strong, just a little soft, front paste-down cracked on the corner, some page corners bumped, some occasional foxing but not too heavy, a few page edges rubbed, no inscriptions. The most desireable Arthur Rackham edition of Peter Pan. read more
