Five images of this book are shown below. It is: The Ingoldsby Legends, by Thomas Ingoldsby, Published in London by William Heinemann, 1910. This book measures 10 1/4" x 7 3/4" and is 549 pages. First, the bad news. This very-generously-illustrated book is in Good condition only. Its spine has been reinforced with clear tape, and there is soiling and quite a bit of edgewear to the binding and some loss at the spine ends (i.e., please see image #5 below). The title page and a few of the illustration pages are detached and laid in with ragged margin edges; the frontispiece is lacking. There is some intermittent light foxing, and there is some overall handling and wear. Now, the good news. I have been buying-and-selling Arthur Rackham books for the last 13 years, and I can't recall one with more illustrations than this one. First, there are 35, full-page, tipped-in, color illustrations. (There should be 36; as mentioned above, the frontispiece is lacking.) Twenty-nine are in virtually-perfect condition; six have a crease at the bottom spine corner. Second, there are twelve, full-page "illustrations printed with tint" (e.g., please see image #3 below); these all are in solid Fine condition and are blank on the reverse.
