A superb fine copy of one of the rarest of all Rackham titles. This is copy 146 of only 600 published. 207 pp. Quarto. Published in White cloth with gilt titles and motif to the front cover and spine. Delightful pictorial endpapers and pastedown. Rackham has presented 24 tipped in color plates plus many more in black & white--with a nice presentation of Rackham's famous animated trees--including the "Hawthorne" tree--opposite page 3. Signed and numbered in his hand on the limitation page by the famous illustrator. Spectacular gilt top edge as if new--uncut pages fore and bottom edge very clean. This copy has one modestly bumped corner--otherwise a bright clean and superb copy with very little toning to the white boards. No evidence of previous ownership--no marks or internal writing. The finest copy we have seen. Rackham signed copies are becoming harder and harder to find in this kind of superb condition.
