On auction is Artist and Artisan Jeff Dente's Oil Painting, " Houses of Parliament" after the original by Claude Monet. This is a dollhouse miniature. The scale being one inch to the foot. The painting and frame are 3 1/4th inches in length and the height is 2 3/4th inches. Jeff Dente sold his paintings and furniture through Eileen Godfrey. He loved the work, but avoided the limelight. Christopher Whitford was of the same opinion, love the work but not the limelight.There are two common misnomers about Monet . The first is that, as an Impressionist, Monet's paintings were done spontaneously. In fact, Monet studied his subjects intently, planned his paintings, and worked hard to achieve his results. He often painted a series of the same subject to capture the changing effects of the light, swapping canvases as the day progressed.The second is that all of Monet's his paintings were done on location. In fact, many were painted or finished back in his studio.
