I don't think this is antique but is very old. T was not another category to use, however. This is a very old artist paint box with a leather handle. I am not sure if it is the original handle. It has three divided compartments. The back and front compartments are the full length of the box and the center compartment has two small compartments on either side of a 10 1/2" center area. Entire outer measurement of box is 17 1/2" x 13" x 4". It has 13 old used paints as well as brushes....10 small brushes and 3 large brushes. Even has an old feedsack apron that does have paint on it! Several notes written on an old typewriter. On an index card is how to paint a picture and what colors to mix. T is a large paper that gives various tones of colors and what colors to mix to get them. Evidently this person knew Dalhart Windberg, the famous and wonderful Texas artist as t are two notes referring to him. One says: 'from Windberg's book' and how to mix certain colors. The other begins with 'Mr. Windberg of Victoria told me he uses black and yellow for dark colors in trees. That is followed with other instructions for painting. I did not, as can be seen in the photo, clean this box. It would make a lovely art box for someone if they want to clean it. I left as is in the event that someone wants to collect the item.
