Centred on Betune, map shows also tghe cities of Arras, Abbeville, Monteruil, Calais, Dunkerque, Saint Omer, Gravelines, Lille, Douai, Lens, etc. Map is filled with a lot of topographical details as well as placenames, rivers, lakes, mountains. Map fashioned with a large decorative title cartouche emballished with two mythological figures, two cherubs and coat of arms. Alternative french title to the top "Carte d'Artois et des Environs a l'usage de Monseigneur Le Duc de Bourgogne". The map is from a Dutch edition of De L'Isle's work entitled, Atlas Nouveau, Contenant Toutes Les Parties Du Monde, Ou sont exactement Remarquées les Empires, Monarchies, Royaumes, Etats, Republiques &c.
