Here's a great truly arts & crafts hammered copper lamp base that was made by one of the fine makers of the time. Its either Benjamin, Dirk Van Erp, Shop of the Crafters, or Stickly, but as it is not signed I have no way of knowing for certain. What I do know is that it is an old lamp base, not a current reproduction. Take a look at the pictures and maybe you can determine the maker. The base itself has a very unusual form. It is hexagonal, but sort of oblong. It measures 23" tall and is 10 1/2" wide x 7" wide. The stem comes up straight to the sockets which are attached directly to it. The shade rest is 5 1/2" in diameter and will slip a 4 5/8" shade opening. The base has what looks like its original Hubbell sockets with their original porcelain interiors and satellite ended pull chains. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and an old plug and comes ready to use. I have no idea who really made this base, but it is an old and good one from a quality maker of the time. I am offering it for what I think is a very reasonable Buy-It-Now prince, but I will consider serious offers. Successful bidder to pay $35 shipping/insurance on this lamp which will come carefully packed for safe delivery. Insurance is also included in this shipping fee.
