THIS AUCTION IS FOR: An EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL ARTS & CRAFTS BOOK about the painter COROT Published in 1902 By ELBERT HUBBARD and the ROYCROFT Printers at his EAST AURORA, N.Y. shop. ~ A first edition and a very nice copy, well bound in brown suede leather, over soft card covers, with yapp edges (lightly rubbed and in places slightly dissintegrated). Front cover with leather title panels: "Little Journeys - Eminent Artists" - "COROT ". Spine lightly rubbed. Top page edges gilt of handmade, watermarked paper with deckled page edges throughout. Brown washed silk endpapers. Blank free-endpapers. Sepia coloured portrait frontis. Hand-colored illuminated letters and end decorations, with foliage (art nouveau/aesthetic style). A beautiful book for the collection of any "arts of the book", artists monograph, or arts & crafts collector. The provided photographs are very representative of the condition of this item.
