Visit My eBay Store: El Rancho Antiques and Cutlery The original ad for this Heintz design appears in McConnells book on Heintz Art Metal on page 124 and says "the proportions this vase are more on the order of a jardiniere...and is quite a large vase". This one is 6 inches high and 6 inches wide with a 4 nin. wide mouth. The patina varies from its original green patina to a mottled green-brown. I've tried to show this variation by shooting the same pictures both with and without a flash, but the pictures still don't show the true beauty of the patina, which is somewhere between the two, depending upon the room lighting. It's a truly rare piece, there just arn't many of these around. There is some loss of the original patina around the sterling silver as a result of the polishing of the silver, but otherwise the condition of the piece is excellent- no dings, no dents,nand the patina around the silver will, I think, return in time. Our store almost always has sterling tea sets by famous silversmiths and several pieces of Heintz, Silvercrest, Tiffany, and Carl Sorensen bronze items for sale at any time because I collect all of it and like having it around, even if only temporarily.
