's a wonderful, extremely high quality early American Mission light fixture with two Quezal calcite with gold aurene interior ribbed shades which is in my store (Decorum in San Francisco). It measures 28 1/2 inches long to the bottom of the shades, and 17 across at the widest point of the shades. The signed Quezal shades have a silky feel and a gorgeous gold glow when lit. One of them has a nearly invisible hairline crack emanating from the 2 1/4 fitter end down 3 inches into the body of the shade, w it stops. In fact, it's in the center "panel" of the shade to the left in this picture, but as I mentioned it's nearly impossible to see unless you've got the shade within a foot of your eye. The canopy, or escutchen plate, measures 14 by 6 inches and easily mounts flush to the ceiling. Note the wonderful decorative elements along the shafts and on the plate itself. The patina is original, acid-colored two-tone brass which has been lacquered. Obviously the lacquer has reacted to the elements over the last hundred years and hence the spots that you see. It's a snap to strip it if you want, but for those of us who like old and original, it's a jewel as-is. It's been rewired, but the sockets are even original -- they are marked "BRYANT" and have mica insulators inside!!! They both function perfectly. You can just barely make out the hairline crack in this photo, it's on the panel to the right of center on the left shade. Deep, rich golds make these extra-special when lit at night. The shade on the right is perfect and signed as the one on the left. Buyer to pay packing ($30 in this instance), shipping and insurance; checks and money orders accepted, with personal or business checks requiring a ten-banking-day clearance; California residents add 8.5% retail sales tax or provide completed resale certificate upon payment. I ship by UPS.
